Some students will need to obtain a visa before they travel to the UK. You can check whether this applies to you on the UKVISAS website at http://www.ukvisas.gov.uk. If you do need a visa ensure that you start the process of applying early, and if you require help contact the study abroad office.

We will issue you with a confirmation of acceptance for studies (CAS letter) and this will account for 30 of the 40 points needed to get your visa. The other points will come from checks by UK entry clearance officers that you have sufficient funds and your documents are genuine. We will request a £1,500.00 deposit before we issue you your official visa letter.

If you do not need a visa, but are not from an EU country you must make sure that you have your acceptance letter and course information with you when you pass through immigration at the airports or ports. Most importantly check that your passport is correct and is not due to expire as it is much easier to update your passport in your home country than it is in the UK.
