Study Abroad Costume with Performance Design Modules

This unit is designed to introduce you to the theories, techniques and processes relevant to Costume with Performance Design. Developing skills in costume drawing, scale model box making and fabric selection for costume will underpin your development throughout the course. You will also be introduced to personal development planning through the use of a Progress File.
Outline Syllabus
- Exploration of 2D representations of shape and aesthetics, through figure and costume drawing
- Introduction to set design and model box making to scale
- I.T. inductions, computer aided design packages including Photoshop
- Introduction to the Progress File and how to create a personal development plan.

Lectures, demonstrations, workshops, studio practice, group learning, group tutorials
Aims
A1 To introduce specialist principles, processes and aesthetics of figure and costume drawing including basic techniques in CAD
A2 To introduce technical skills relating to the production of a scale model box
A3 To introduce personal development planning

On completion of this unit you will be able to:
LO1 Understand the principles, processes and aesthetics of costume drawing and proportional figure drawing including the use of CAD
LO2 Be able to use a variety of technical processes related to the construction of a scale model box
LO3 Demonstrate personal development planning through the use your progress file
