Investigating relevant dramatic genres and practitioners of the late twentieth and early twenty first century, your writing will build on learning acquired in the Autumn Term unit (3 October - 9 December 2011), Performance Studies. You will further develop your academic writing skills and critical analysis.
Outline Syllabus
- Personal development planning through diagnostic workshops
- Key performance genres and practitioners of the late twentieth and early twenty first century
- Semiotics of performance and costume
- Study skills
Method of Delivery
Lectures, screenings, staff and student led seminars, workshops, tutorials, independent study and educational visits as appropriate.
Aims
A1 To extend and deepen your knowledge and understanding of performance and design issues in contemporary practice.
A2 To develop further the academic skills introduced during the preceding unit: Performance Studies.
A3 To discuss theoretical and contextual issues through research and analysis.
A4 To develop critical analysis through self reflection and professional development planning.
