This unit forms the practical progression from the Specialist Practice Preparation unit. It is the practical realisation of the Learning agreement.
You will produce an outcome based on your own aspirations and area of specialism either as an individual piece/s or as a team co-ordinated effort, depending on the previously negotiated learning agreement.
It may also take the form of a 'live' or industry related project depending on previous and/or current developments within the individual's/programme or course.
Outline syllabus
An indicative guide to the content covered by this unit.
- Personal identification of progression of subject through discussion with project tutors and other appropriate sources.
- Further research and development of concept, style, project planning and realisation.
- The design and/or interpretation and presentation of selected project to include a written evaluation.
Method of delivery
Tutorials; research; independent study; studio practice; critique.
Aims
A1 To provide the opportunity to apply practical knowledge to an increasingly advanced level of attainment within the context of fashion design.
A2 To provide opportunities for developing communication and organisational abilities.
A3 To further increase critical thinking and self-awareness.
Learning outcomes
On completion of this unit you will be able to:
LO1 Demonstrate creative application, knowledge and understanding of current standards of professional practice including:
- Differentiating between various approaches and applications within fashion genres and the many variables within.
LO2 Demonstrate self awareness and judgement through effective project solutions including:
- Project development
- Self appraisal and development
- Continuous evaluation of self and possible project solutions
LO3 Demonstrate effective planning time and resource management and professional levels of project realisation and presentation including:
- Time management
- Working successfully with others in the production of creative outcomes.
