This unit will introduce you to the process of fashion imaging with a focus on the application of new technologies. Increased awareness of roles and processes will be developed through collaborative engagement. You will be encouraged to integrate digital imagery with skills acquired in the unit Drawing: The Creative Process, through the exploration and application of cutting edge technology. You will explore the creative use of layout, composition and typography, for the effective communication of ideas.

- An introduction to the contemporary image-makers
- The fundamentals of styling for fashion photography
- An introduction to the Adobe Creative Suite
- Exploring digital manipulation for fashion communication
- The fundamentals of composition, layout and typography
- Reflection through PDP

Aims
A1 To initiate effective research in order to inform the visual communication of concepts.
A2 To develop an understanding of roles and processes employed in contemporary fashion imagery.
A3 To experiment with technologies in order to create original digital solutions and effectively communicate your ideas.
A4 To explore the use of layout and composition to communicate your ideas.
Learning Outcomes
On completion of this unit you will be able to:
LO1 Demonstrate effective communication through the interpretation of research.
LO2 Create effective fashion imagery through creative use of layout and composition.
LO3 Demonstrate an understanding of techniques and processes in the creation of original digital solutions and the effective communication of your ideas.
LO4 Demonstrate compositional and layout skills as communication tools.
