This unit will test your understanding of time and space from the mundane to the sublime, the microscopic world to concepts of infinity and all the gaps in between. You are encouraged to be innovative in the use of materials and processes and to extend your theoretical understanding of time and space. Increasing your ambition in the creation of art works and understanding, through research into the place artefacts are shown in will be a focus of this unit.
Outline Syllabus
The unit title Articulating Time and Space introduces the idea of considered display to your studio practice. Discussions around ideas of time-based work and installation compliment workshops in casting, video and performance. Emphasis on the understanding of a theoretical perspective through the use of appropriate materials and a synthesis of ideas and environment create a point of dialogue with the Fine Art context.
Method of Delivery
Studio-based assignment, seminars, tutorials, independent research and practice.
Aims
A1 The encouragement to experience a wider understanding of the artifact in an open and experimental way.
A2 The opportunity for you to articulate your ideas, broaden and enhance your knowledge of space and time and apply it to your work.
A3 Further development of your understanding of the critical discourse surrounding media and processes.

On completion of this unit you will be able to:
