Study Abroad Make-Up for Media and Performance Course Modules

Investigating the enhancement and transformation of character through make-up, and make-up effects and supported by advanced workshops and demonstrations, this unit of study provides the opportunity to apply the principles and further develop skills in hair and make-up design. Situated in one or more dramatic performance contexts and informed by relevant theoretical, critical and historical perspectives, you will continue to study special make-up effects and extend your skills in prosthetic design and application.

  • Character make-up and time effects 
  • Continuity hair cutting and styling

Aims

A1 To extend and develop your knowledge of technical skills and processes in working with prosthetics
A2 To extend and develop your abilities in character make-up and hairstyling for media and performance contexts
A3 To further develop critical thinking, time-management and self-awareness
