This unit focuses on digital modelling, texturing, lighting and rendering. It provides an opportunity to enhance 3D communication through digital media and further develops the synergy between digital and physical outcomes.
Using a combination of media to inform innovative representations of 3D concepts, this unit will explore your knowledge of physical construction and apply those principles to inform and enhance digital solutions in line with current professional practice.

Lectures and demonstrations, seminars, practical studio sessions. Research, independent study and tutorials.
Aims
A1 To develop your critical analysis and understanding of computer concepts and explore future developments with-in the digital media industries.
A2 To develop your abilities to model, map, light, animate and render in digital media.
A3 To explore the creative and commercial use of digital 3D visualisation.
A4 Through research and case studies, to develop an informed understanding of creative digital media, its benefits, limitations and its relationship with non digital media.
Learning Outcomes
On completion of this unit you will be able to:
LO1 Demonstrate a thorough understanding of critical choices made in the production of digital model and animation.
LO2 Use computer modelling techniques to produce through 3D digital modelling, mapping, lighting and rendering.
LO3 Create effective presentations in a variety of digital media.
LO4 Make informed decisions on the use, or otherwise, of computer graphic techniques.
